Overview:
This program will provide a roadmap for providing benefits for healthcare executives, including physicians and non-physicians in both not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals and medical service centers. It will cover issues related to tax-deferred annuities, 403(b) plans and non-qualified retirement benefits such as 457(b) and 457(f) plans, as well as the feared Code Section 409A. Some time will be devoted to funding arrangements such as Rabbi trusts and investment alternatives and will include discussion on the pros and cons of insurance products versus investing in mutual funds.

Target Audience:
Chief executive officers, chief financial officers, chief operating officers and human resource executives.

Faculty:
Catherine M. Marriott is a partner in Williams Mullen and a member of its board of directors. She serves as chair of its Employee Benefits Practice and is the chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and its Retirement Committee. She has been recognized as a leading benefits and compensation attorney in the U.S. By Chambers USA and is included in Best Lawyers in America (in Employee Benefits Law) and Virginia Super Lawyers (in Employee Benefits/ERISA) and in Virginia Business Magazine’s “Legal Elite”. She serves on several local boards. Her practice focuses on all areas of employee benefits, including stock-based compensation, pension and welfare plans for private and tax-exempt employers, ESOPs for public and privately held companies and issues arising in mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Marriott received her undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and her law degree from the College of William and Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law.

Continuing Education Credits:
VHREF is authorized to award 1.0 hours of pre-approved Category II (non-ACHE) continuing education credits for each session of this program toward advancement or recertification in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Participants in this program wishing to have the continuing education hours applied toward Category II credit should list their attendance when applying to the American College of Healthcare Executives for advancement or recertification.

Registration Information:
The fee is $200 per connection. You will need a telephone (preferable a speaker phone) as well as Internet. Multiple individuals from the same facility may participate for the same fee. Connection instructions and handout materials will be e-mailed to each participating site prior to the day of the session. Payment must be received in order to get materials. Registration deadline is September 3.

Time:
Log-in begins at 1:45 p.m. The program will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT.

Cancellations:
A refund will be made to those registrants notifying VHREF of cancellation three days prior to the program date. A $25 processing fee will be assessed against each refund. These Webinars are designed to deliver participants timely information on a wide range of health care related topics and provides an important mechanism for multiple representatives from organizations to participate simultaneously at a fraction of the cost of single location, face-to-face seminars.
