Alison S. McGeary
Alison McGeary focuses her practice on general intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and litigation. A large part of Ms. McGeary’s practice involves all stages of patent prosecution, including pre-grant prosecution, filing the patent and post-grant amendment and opposition. In her patent practice, she works with both corporate clients and individual inventors on matters involving patent prosecution and litigation. In her copyright practice, Ms. McGeary focuses on copyright litigation and copyright infringement.

Ms. McGeary is licensed to practice in North Carolina and before the U.S Patent and Trademark Office. She is a member of the American and North Carolina bar associations.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University and a juris doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. McGeary was active in the Intellectual Property Society, Innocence Project, Inns of Court, the North Carolina Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity and was Head Barbri Representative. In addition, she served as articles editor of the Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal. Ms. McGeary was the recipient of the Junius C. Brown Scholarship.
Ms. McGeary is a member of the Board of Directors of the Visual Art Exchange. Prior to law school, Ms. McGeary was a co-op engineer for Illinois Tool Works and a technical recruiter for Adecco Technical. She is conversant in Spanish.
