Grig Scifres is a partner in the Financial Services Section at Williams Mullen. His practice focuses primarily on financing, creditors' rights, commercial and real estate law. He co-chairs the firm's financial services team and is a member of the firm's opinion letter committee.

Mr. Scifres is the author of a monthly column that appears in The Tidewater Builder, a publication of the Tidewater Builders Association.

Representations
Mr. Scifres has represented local, regional and national regulated and non-regulated lenders for over 25 years. His financing experience encompasses the origination, documentation, restructuring and enforcement of commercial, real estate and asset-based loans, syndicated financings, financings of tax credit projects, issuance and credit enhancement of tax-exempt bonds, securitization financings, UCC Article 9 issues, lender liability issues, loan workouts, bankruptcy, foreclosure, consumer credit issues and loan participations. He regularly represents creditors in debt restructurings, workouts, bankruptcies and asset acquisitions from bankrupt companies. Mr. Scifres has extensive experience representing developers of apartment, hotel and headquarters projects, including acquisitions, sales, construction, financing and franchise license transactions.
