Brian Ball concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities laws, and capital formation. He also regularly represents clients before state and federal administrative agencies and the Virginia General Assembly. Mr. Ball is vice chair of the firm’s Business Department and serves on the firm’s board of directors and as its general counsel.
Brian Ball concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities laws, and capital formation. He also regularly represents clients before state and federal administrative agencies and the Virginia General Assembly. Mr. Ball is vice chair of the firm’s Business Department and serves on the firm’s board of directors and as its general counsel. Mr. Ball has lectured and written on business transactions and the legal ethics of business law. He is a member of the board of directors of the University of Virginia’s Benefactors Society of the College of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Ball also serves on the board of directors of Virginiaforever, an organization representing businesses and conservation groups seeking funding for land preservation and water quality. He is a past president of the Richmond Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, immediate past chair of the board of trustees of The Healing Place, and former chairman of The Nature Conservancy in Virginia. Mr. Ball has been named to Virginia Business magazine’s list of “Legal Elite” and named a “Super Lawyer” for Business/Corporate by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America. In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Ball an AV attorney, its highest rating available. Mr. Ball graduated with high distinction from the University of Virginia in 1973 where he was an Echols Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1976, he received his juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and California. Mr. Ball served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California from 1981 to 1982. He is a member of the Richmond, Virginia, and American bar associations and the Virginia State Bar.
