Robert D. Perrow

Bob Perrow has a broad range of experience in the representation of mortgage lenders and brokers, corporate trustees and other financial institutions, with an emphasis on commercial litigation and regulatory compliance. He also has extensive experience in real estate related litigation involving condemnation, easements and tax appeals.

Bob Perrow has a broad range of experience in the representation of various types of financial institutions, with an emphasis on commercial litigation and regulatory compliance.  His administrative law practice has included the representation of insurance regulators, regulated companies and consumers of goods and services provided by regulated companies.  He also has extensive experience in real estate related litigation involving condemnation, easements and tax appeals.

Mr. Perrow has handled cases since 1975 in state and federal courts in Virginia, federal court in Indiana, state court in Texas, and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in North Carolina, the District of Columbia and Maryland. Mr. Perrow is admitted to practice before all bankruptcy and federal district courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Mr. Perrow has served as chair of the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Bench-Bar Relations. He formerly served on the Virginia State Bar Special Committee on Bar News Media Relations. He is a member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association,  the Defense Research Institute and the Bankruptcy Section of the Richmond Bar Association. He is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association and a permanent member of the Judicial Conference of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Perrow has been named to Virginia Business magazine’s list of “The Legal Elite” and recognized as a top lawyer for banking law by The Best Lawyers in America. He was named Best Lawyers' 2012 Richmond Litigation - Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year. Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Perrow an AV attorney, its highest rating available.

Following law school, Mr. Perrow served as a law clerk to the Honorable J. Calvitt Clarke, Jr., chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. After his clerkship, Mr. Perrow served approximately two years as an assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Mr. Perrow received his juris doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1974 and his bachelor of science degree in commerce from the University of Virginia in 1970. During law school, Mr. Perrow was a member of the University of Richmond Law Review and was elected to the McNeill Law Society.
