Christian H. Chiles
Christian Chiles concentrates his practice in commercial real estate and banking services. He has extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in the negotiation of leases for office, retail and industrial properties, representing borrowers and lenders for loans in commercial real estate, banking and business transactions, and representing clients in the acquisition, sale and development of commercial real estate, including zoning and land use matters, and the purchase and sale of businesses and related corporate matters. Prior to joining Williams Mullen in 2000, he was a partner in a general litigation, corporate and real estate law firm in Chesapeake, Va.

Mr. Chiles' representative transaction experience includes representation of a major institutional real estate investors in leasing office park and shopping center properties in multiple states; representation of multi-state business operators and real estate investors in convenience stores, gas stations and fuel distributorships; representation of developers of shopping centers including build to suit leasing for national drug stores and supermarkets; representation of national communications companies across the United States for acquisition, leasing and development of television, radio and cellular towers including significant multi-site financings for communications companies; representation of municipal economic development authorities in real estate development projects; and representation of regional transit authority in real estate acquisition and development for region’s first light rail transportation project.
Mr. Chiles has been named one of the top up-and-coming lawyers in the state by Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars magazine and as a "Legal Elite" in Virginia Business magazine. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. From 1991 through 2004, Mr. Chiles was admitted to practice in Tennessee.
He is a member of the Chesapeake Bar Association and serves as an area representative of the Real Property Section of the Virginia State Bar. He has served as a division chair for the Virginia Beach Cabinet Volunteers of the United Way of South Hampton Roads and on the Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate Bus Tour Committee. He is on the board of directors for the American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia and is a graduate of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Lead Hampton Roads program.
