Craig L. Mytelka
Craig Mytelka is chair of the firm’s business development and marketing, serves on the firm’s board of directors as vice president and is the former chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Section. His practice is concentrated in the areas of U.S. and foreign trademark and copyright law, domestic and international licensing, franchise law, unfair competition, trade secrets and patents, international trade and U.S. Customs regulations, as well as general corporate law. Mr. Mytelka also maintains a civil litigation practice, which includes representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of infringements, unfair competition, trade secrets and other complex litigation.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Mytelka was a partner with Clark & Stant, which merged with Williams Mullen in 1999. He serves as an adjunct professor of law at Regent University School of Law, where he teaches computer, trademark, copyright, patent and unfair competition law. Mr. Mytelka also serves on the advisory board to the College of Engineering and Science at Old Dominion University. In addition, he has lectured and published articles on various intellectual property topics. Mr. Mytelka is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and has been named one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine. In 2010, he was featured in Virginia Business magazine as one of the top 10 vote recipients in Intellectual Property for the 2009 Legal Elite. Mr. Mytelka has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading intellectual property attorney and named a “Super Lawyer” for Intellectual Property by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Mytelka an AV attorney, its highest rating available.
Mr. Mytelka is a Master in The James Kent American Inn of Court. He is a director of and serves on the executive committee of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival. Mr. Mytelka serves as a trustee at Cape Henry Collegiate School in Virginia Beach. He is also active in the Hampton Roads Technology Council, where he serves on its board of directors. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Intellectual Property Section of the Federal Bar Association, the Intellectual Property Section of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Beach Bar Association and the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association.
A graduate of Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, Mr. Mytelka received his law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. While in law school, he was a merit scholar and a member of the University of Richmond Law Review.
