Carrie Stanton is an Associate with the Corporate Law team with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and general business matters. She received her J.D. in May 2011 from the University of Virginia School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Stanton was on the editorial board of Journal of Law & Politics, a peer mentor for Virginia Law Women and a contributing writer to Virginia Law Weekly.

Ms. Stanton received her B.A. with Distinction in Politics from the University of Virginia, College of Arts and Sciences in May 2007. While an undergraduate, she was on the Dean’s List every semester. Ms. Stanton was a staff writer for Cavalier Daily and a news intern and contributing writer for the C-Ville Weekly. She studied abroad at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Ms. Stanton worked previously at Williams Mullen as a summer associate in 2010. She also interned at another law firm, as well as serving as a research assistant at University of Virginia School of Law and a development services assistant at Duke University School of Law. She has worked as a project editor and freelance writer for The Independent in Durham, NC.
