Mr. Dorton has been a frequent lecturer and instructor, speaking on a variety of topics related to real property titles.

Mr. Dorton is licensed to practice in North Carolina. He is a member of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and has served as chairman of the Real Property Section Council and chairman of the Legislative Committee. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the North Carolina Land Title Association and a former president of the Wake County Real Property Lawyer’s Association.

He received his bachelor of arts degree from Wake Forest University, magna cum laude, and his juris doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
