H. David Embree
David Embree's practice focuses on real estate, corporate finance, business formation and wireless communications. His experience includes representation of several developers who build apartment communities using equity funding through the federal low-income housing tax credit. These transactions include acquiring and preparing property for development, negotiating partnership agreements with national tax credit equity syndicators, and negotiating and closing debt financing with a variety of governmental and institutional lenders.

These transactions include acquiring and preparing property for development, negotiating partnership agreements with national tax credit equity syndicators, and negotiating and closing debt financing with a variety of governmental and institutional lenders.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Embree was a partner at Hofheimer Nusbaum, P.C., which merged with Williams Mullen in 2004. Mr. Embree’s corporate finance experience includes representation of retail and wholesale businesses in both term and revolving credit facilities. His broad range of experience includes typical loans secured by real estate and inventory, financing of receivables through bankruptcy remote conduits, and off-balance sheet financing of distribution centers through "synthetic leases." His wireless communications clients include developers of tower infrastructure, licensees of broadcast spectrum who provide mobile radio and paging services, a supplier of customer loyalty systems for gas stations, convenience stores and other locations wired for connection to the Internet or satellite communications, and an Internet service provider.
Mr. Embree is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He has been named one of Virginia's “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine and is listed as a “Super Lawyer” for Real Estate/Construction by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Embree an AV attorney, its highest rating available. He is a past president of the Norfolk Law Library Foundation. Mr. Embree received his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1974. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Michigan State University in 1971.
