Elizabeth Mason Horsley
Elizabeth Horsley is the co-chair of the fiduciary litigation team and concentrates her practice on trust and estates and financial services litigation. Ms. Horsley is admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Ms. Horsley is admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, the U.S. District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
She is a member of the Virginia State Bar, American Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association, Richmond Bar Association and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association. She also volunteers her time with Central Virginia Legal Aid. Ms. Horsley is the 2005 recipient of the Sandra P. Thompson Award, presented by the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division in recognition of outstanding work and long-term service.
Active in community as well as legal organizations, Ms. Horsley is a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA), president of the board of Commonwealth Parenting, vice president of the board of Theatre IV, and a board member of James River Writers, where she serves on the strategic planning committee. She also volunteers at St. Christopher's School.
Ms. Horsley has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine as one of the “Legal Elite.” She has been a speaker on fiduciary topics for the Virginia State Bar continuing legal education program, for the Trust & Estate Division of the Virginia Bar Association, and the Trusts Administrators Council of Richmond.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Horsley served as a law clerk to The Honorable Richard B. Kellam, Senior Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
She received her law degree from the Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1994. In law school, Ms. Horsley was a member of the Moot Court Board and a coach for the National Appellate Advocacy Competition. She was a finalist in the Davis Moot Court Competition and a member of the National Appellate Advocacy Team. She also was a member of the Law Fellows Program and Phi Delta Phi. Ms. Horsley earned her bachelor of arts degree, summa cum laude, in 1990 from Sweet Briar College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
