Thomas E. Knauer will present on Air Emissions. Mr. Knauer will describe the U.S. EPA's new ambient air standards for designating "attainment" or "nonattainment" areas and their implications. What can the Maritime Industry expect if Hampton Roads fails to meet the standards? Mr. Knauer is counsel to the Air Regulation Subcommittee of the Virginia Manufacturers Association and was recently recognized as one of "The Best Lawyers in America" for Environmental Law.

William A. Anderson, II will present on Vessel and Water Discharge. Mr. Anderson will bring us up to date on recent developments in the regulation of mobile sources, especially vessels. New rules will affect air emissions and water discharges from vessels in the Hampton Roads region.
