Hugh T. Harrison, II

Hugh Harrison's practice involves all areas of commercial real estate, including representation of both developers and financial institutions. He has extensive experience with commercial real estate transactions, including commercial leasing and the acquisition, development and financing of residential subdivisions and planned unit developments, office and residential condominiums, office buildings, multi-family housing projects and shopping centers.

Hugh Harrison's practice involves all areas of commercial real estate, including representation of both developers and financial institutions. He has extensive experience with commercial real estate transactions, including commercial leasing and the acquisition, development and financing of residential subdivisions and planned unit developments, office and residential condominiums, office buildings, multi-family housing projects and shopping centers.

Mr. Harrison has been involved with numerous low-income housing tax credit apartment syndications, as well as real estate projects financed under a variety of HUD financing programs, including nursing homes, multifamily apartments and housing projects for elderly and low and moderate income tenants. He has regularly represented financial institutions, including national and regional banks and institutional lenders, in connection with commercial real estate and construction lending and other forms of asset-based financing.

Mr. Harrison began the practice of law with the firm of Browder, Russell, Morris & Butcher, which merged with Williams Mullen in June 1990.

He received his juris doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1981. He was a member of the University of Richmond Law Review and served as editor-in-chief in 1980-81. Mr. Harrison was selected for membership in several honorary societies, including the McNeill Law Society and Omicron Delta Kappa.  In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Harrison an AV attorney, its highest rating available. 

A graduate of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, he received a bachelor of science degree in Commerce in 1976.

Mr. Harrison is a member of the Real Estate Section Council of the Virginia Bar Association, having served a two-year term as chairman in 2000-2001. He is also a member of the Richmond and American Bar Associations and the Virginia State Bar.
