Channing Martin Named to 2018 Class of Leaders in the Law by Virginia Lawyers Weekly
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Channing Martin has been named to the 2018 class of "Leaders in the Law" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The awards program, which recognizes lawyers who are setting the standard for other lawyers in Virginia, named 25 people to the 2018 class. The honorees will be celebrated at a reception on Oct. 25 at the John Marshall Hotel in Richmond.
Channing joined Williams Mullen in 1980 after earning his Juris Doctor degree from the Washington and Lee University School of Law. As chair of Williams Mullen's Environment & Natural Resources practice, Channing counsels clients on a wide variety of environmental issues and represents them before regulatory agencies and courts on such matters as the Clean Air and Water Acts, CERCLA, RCRA, Brownfields redevelopment and wetlands. Among other industry sectors, Channing regularly represents developers, manufacturers, utilities, petroleum companies and trade associations.
Channing is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© (2007-present) and was named the Best Lawyers® 2013 Richmond “Environmental Lawyer of the Year." He has been recognized by Chambers USA as a leading environmental attorney in the United States since 2004. Martindale-Hubbell has rated him an AV attorney, its highest rating. In addition, Channing has been named one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” for environmental law by Virginia Business magazine (2015-present).
