John C. Bilzor
John Bilzor focuses his practice on business and corporate law and includes mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, contracts, finance, licensing, and business planning. Mr. Bilzor serves as outside general counsel to a variety of businesses and in that capacity provides advice and counsel regarding transactions, contracts, relationships with suppliers, distributors, and customers, dispute resolution, litigation analysis, and other general business matters.

Mr. Bilzor serves as outside general counsel to a variety of businesses and in that capacity provides advice and counsel regarding transactions, contracts, relationships with suppliers, distributors, and customers, dispute resolution, litigation analysis, and other general business matters.
He has extensive experience in both small and large mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, reorganizations, and the drafting and analysis of business contracts and agreements of all kinds, including shareholder and limited liability company operating agreements. His represented clients cover a broad range of industry areas, including manufacturing, retail, distribution, investment, banking, technology, real estate and health care.
Mr. Bilzor has published numerous articles. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association, Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. He is a past-chair of the Board of Governors of the Health Law Section of the Virginia State Bar. Mr. Bilzor is also involved in the community, has been active with Lead Hampton Roads and was a charter member of Downtown Norfolk Council’s Downtown 100.
Mr. Bilzor received his law degree in 1991 from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. He earned his master of arts degree in English literature from Tulane University in 1974 and his bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Hamilton College in 1970.
