Lawrence H. Bryant

Mr. Bryant is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Real Estate Group. He focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial real estate, including the acquisition, sale, financing, development, and leasing of all types of commercial properties. Mr. Bryant represents clients in transactions and leases involving significant warehouse and industrial properties, including the representation of a major warehousing, trucking and port services company which serves customers in the Port of Virginia; large office parks and high rise office towers located in major metropolitan areas; hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other medical office buildings and healthcare facilities; and unimproved land, including representation of developers of residential subdivisions and mixed use projects. Mr. Bryant also represents clients in the creation of residential and commercial condominiums including land condominiums, and the negotiation of retail leases and ground leases involving national retailers.

Mr. Bryant regularly represents a large global real estate investment firm in sophisticated transactions and leases involving industrial, office and multi-family properties located throughout the United States, including the financing of such transactions and the defeasance of existing loans.

Mr. Bryant is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the Maine State Bar as well as a member of the Real Property and Business Law Sections of the Virginia State Bar Association and the Real Property and Probate Section of the American Bar Association. He is a member of the Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real Estate and the Downtown Norfolk Council. 

Mr. Bryant received his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1983 and his BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in 1980.

Mr. Bryant is a member of the Board of Directors of Plumb Line Ministries, Inc., a non-profit organization which redevelops blighted residential areas and constructs new homes and infrastructure through governmental programs such as the HOME Loan Program. Mr. Bryant is also President of the Board of Directors of the D’Art Center located in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia which is a community arts organization with over forty in-residence artists.
