John Mitchell knows about the value of an accepting and diverse environment, having come out as a young associate at the firm. John is now a corporate partner based in Williams Mullen’s Washington, D.C. office where he represents some of the firm’s largest clients. He also serves on our Diversity Committee and heads up the firm’s LGBT initiatives. Those initiatives include overseeing the development of the firm’s domestic partner benefits and participating in recruiting events.

John focuses his practice on corporate and securities law and mergers and acquisitions. He represents publicly traded companies in complying with regulations, as well as stock exchange requirements. He also advises their management and boards on corporate governance issues. In this role, he counsels our clients on investor relations, executive compensation, corporate ethics, and insider trading compliance.
