Electrical Engineering Patent Attorney Andrew R. Shores Joins Williams Mullen’s IP Team

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Andrew R. Shores, an experienced patent attorney with a background in electrical engineering, has joined the firm as an Associate in the Raleigh office.

Mr. Shores has the real-world business and legal experience to help businesses protect, defend and enforce their developments. His practice is focused on intellectual property matters, with a particular emphasis on electrical and software patent prosecution, litigation, post-grant proceedings, and counseling. Before his law career, Mr. Shores worked as a lead project engineer and electrical engineer at a prominent national engineering firm. In that role, he dealt specifically with aircraft avionics and weather radar systems. He collaborated with aircraft manufacturers to capture new product specifications and coordinated implementation with sub-system development teams. This experience gives him an understanding of the business of complex software applications companies, telecommunications, and other electrical technologies.

Drew received his Juris Doctor with concentrations in Intellectual Property & Advocacy from the Norman A. Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, earning the highest GPA in his class. He also has a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University’s Edmund T. Pratt Jr. School of Engineering, as well as a B.S. in Physics from Rhodes College.
