Williams Mullen Adds Patent Attorney Clint Brannon to Intellectual Property Practice

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Clinton H. “Clint” Brannon has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Brannon has more than 12 years of experience helping clients manage and resolve intellectual property issues and disputes. He has extensive experience in patent litigation in federal district courts and AIA inter partes reviews and ex parte patent reexamination proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Brannon joins Williams Mullen from Mayer Brown LLP in Washington, D.C.

“We’re very excited to add Clint’s experience to our team of patent litigators and IP attorneys,” Intellectual Property Practice Chair Rob Van Arnam said. “He has an impressive base of knowledge across a range of highly technical fields, and we’re confident he is going to be an asset for our firm and our clients.”

Mr. Brannon has prosecuted patents for clients in the electrical and mechanical arts, and he has provided opinions of counsel concerning patent infringement and validity issues.

He also has experience with Section 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission, and ICC and AAA arbitration proceedings, and he supports clients in their patent licensing and valuation efforts. He has particular experience addressing antitrust and competition issues associated with intellectual property matters, including those concerning the licensing and enforcement of standard-essential patents.

Mr. Brannon earned both his J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University.
