01.04.2017 Williams Mullen Adds Trusts & Estates Attorney M.R. Litman

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Mary Rennie Rowe “M.R.” Litman has joined the firm’s Estate Planning: Private Client & Fiduciary Services Practice in the Richmond office. Ms. Litman focuses her practice on estate tax planning, estate and trust taxation and administration, business succession planning and fiduciary litigation.

Ms. Litman also works with disabled and incapacitated persons and their families in the establishment of special needs trusts and advises on guardianship and conservatorship matters.

“We’re excited to add M.R. to our team,” Estate Planning: Private Client & Fiduciary Services Practice Chair Christine Piersall said. “Her T&E experience, particularly with special needs trusts, guardianships and conservatorship matters, will be a real asset to our firm.”

Ms. Litman enjoys working with clients to accomplish their estate planning goals, including the preparation and administration of wills and trusts.  She has extensive experience litigating will contest cases, will and trust construction cases, family and probate disputes and cases that involve the misconduct of fiduciaries and the misappropriation of funds.  Ms. Litman has handled several complex family disputes involving elective share claims, prenuptial agreements, business succession planning and the administration of estates in multiple jurisdictions.

Ms. Litman is admitted to practice in West Virginia, but not Virginia. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in political science from Vanderbilt University.
