Williams Mullen Adds Veteran Corporate Partner Doug Sbertoli

Williams Mullen is pleased to welcome Doug Sbertoli back to the firm as a Partner in the Business & Corporate practice. Mr. Sbertoli has nearly 30 years of high-level legal and business experience in a variety of areas. His addition deepens Williams Mullen’s Business & Corporate practice, and he will provide tremendous value to our clients, including those in the corporate and public finance area and health care industry. He previously worked for the firm as an Associate in the early 1990s.

Mr. Sbertoli most recently served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for a prominent health care company. Before that, he was a Partner at a national law firm based in Richmond, where he led the Corporate/Public Finance Group for more than 20 years.

Mr. Sbertoli has worked extensively with capital market players, governmental units, health care companies and other publicly and privately held businesses across many different sectors. He has advised clients on a broad range of issues, including corporate governance and crisis management matters, joint ventures, restructuring initiatives, business acquisitions and divestitures, regulatory compliance responsibilities, securities offerings and innovative capital market transactions.

Mr. Sbertoli currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Watkins Center Community Development Authority, and he was a founder, board member and basketball director for the Weaver Athletic Association. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the William & Mary School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
