04.27.2009 Williams Mullen Launches Intellectual Property Litigation Blog RICHMOND, VA. – Williams Mullen announces that it has launched a new blog which concentrates on intellectual property litigation matters within the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, known as the "Rocket Docket." The blog is co-edited by Patrick R. Hanes and William R. Poynter, members of the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice.
“This new blog is designed to be a resource for the community and anyone interested in the current trends in IP litigation,” said Craig L. Mytelka, Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice. “Patrick and Billy have a lot of experience in this field and will do an excellent job as this blog grows.”
"Bringing a litigation matter to court in Virginia's Rocket Docket presents distinctive challenges for the parties involved. Williams Mullen has been representing clients in this forum for a long time. That experience gives us a unique perspective that we are happy to share. The interactive nature of a blog is a fit for sharing thoughts and ideas, we encourage participation and discussion."
Some of the topics that the blog has already tackled include U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rule changes, a recent decision by the Fourth Circuit concerning the “OBX” designation, and other recent intellectual property matters.
The blog will officially launch on April 29, 2009 and can be found on the Williams Mullen website (www.williamsmullen.com). www.williamsmullen.com/rocketdocketiplit
