Williams Mullen Signs Virginia Competes Pledge, Pledges Commitment to LGBT-Inclusive Culture

At Williams Mullen, we are committed to employing a diverse workforce that is inclusive of race, sex, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, religion, nationality, age, disability and marital and parental status, veteran status, thoughts and ideas. That's why we are proud to announce that we have signed Equality Virginia's Virginia Competes Pledge.

As a signer of the Virginia Competes pledge, we acknowledge that our business is committed to promoting a competitive, economically vibrant Virginia. The pledge states:

We believe that in order for Virginia businesses to compete for top talent, we must have workplaces and communities that are diverse and welcoming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. We believe that treating all Virginians and visitors fairly is essential to maintain Virginia's strong brand as the premiere home for talented workers, growing businesses, entrepreneurial innovation, and a thriving travel and tourism industry. It's time to ensure fairness for all Virginia employees, residents, and consumers. A united Virginia is a competitive Virginia. And when Virginia competes, Virginia wins.

The pledge is promoted by Equality Virginia, a statewide, non-partisan education, outreach, and advocacy organization seeking equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Virginians (LGBT). For more information on Equality Virginia, visit their website here.
