04.08.2009 Williams Mullen Women's Initiative Hosts Event: "Inspirational Leadership in Times of Great Change" On Tuesday, March 31, the Williams Mullen Women’s Initiative hosted a leadership event for women in conjunction with the Norfolk Southern Corporation Women’s Initiative (WiNS) entitled “Inspirational Leadership in Times of Great Change.”  Seventy attendees gathered at the Town Point Club in Norfolk, Va. for this exciting program.

The event featured a luncheon, networking, and informational session led by Mary Davis Holt and Jill Flynn of Flynn Heath Holt Leadership.  Mary Davis Holt, former Chief Operating Officer of Time Life, Inc. and Jill Flynn, former Sr. VP and Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Wachovia, taught attendees many helpful business development and leadership strategies.  The event also featured a panel with Williams Mullen’s Evelyn Suarez and Terrie Suit along with Norfolk Southern executives Deb Butler (Executive Vice President Planning & CIO) and Marta Stewart (Treasurer).  The panel focused on suggestions for career advancement in adverse economic times.  The thirty-five attendees from throughout the Williams Mullen footprint enjoyed the event and many new relationships were formed through the networking sessions.

“We were so pleased with how this event turned out,” said Women’s Initiative Chair Elizabeth Scott “, it was such an empowering, informative experience for our women to take part in and I know our attendees really enjoyed meeting the members of Norfolk Southern’s WiNS.”
