Jessica Bowman supports Williams Mullen’s Government Relations team in Virginia, assisting in research, committee coverage and bill tracking to help clients further their legislative priorities as well as overseeing campaign activities throughout the year. Jessica brings several years’ experience in Virginia politics, having served as chief of staff to a state delegate and worked on numerous political races in Virginia.
Before joining Williams Mullen, Jessica served as a Chief of Staff for Delegate Lynwood Lewis, where she helped to research and draft legislation and monitor ongoing legislation and processes during the Virginia General Assembly Session. She also drafted official correspondence and managed constituent outreach to proactively assist citizens with their comments, questions and concerns.
Jessica got her start in politics as the Lead Field Organizer for John Miller’s State Senate race. In that role, she did voter outreach to ensure that the candidate’s message reached the citizens of the commonwealth. The following election season, she worked as the Upper Hampton Roads Regional Field Director for the Democratic Party of Virginia in Newport News, managing and executing outreach programs and coordinating teams of organizers and volunteers. She later served as Hampton Roads Field Director for Brian Moran’s gubernatorial campaign, speaking at events on behalf of the candidate and managing a team of field staff in two offices.
Jessica earned her B.S. in political science from Christopher Newport University, where she graduated cum laude.
