Ryan Hanson assists clients, including publicly traded companies, with a wide range of business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity reorganizations and restructurings, corporate governance, contract review and negotiation and other commercial transactions. He represents these clients in deals across a wide range of industries, including health care, senior living, retail, manufacturing, software and technology and startups, at various stages of transactions. In addition to his corporate and M&A background, Ryan assists clients with the development, sale, acquisition and financing of commercial real estate properties and related leasing matters, particularly in the senior housing industry.

Ryan is licensed to practice in Virginia and is a member of the Virginia Bar Association.  He serves as chair-elect of the VBA Young Lawyers Division Mentor Program, a program that introduces at-risk middle school students to community role models who emphasize the importance of goal setting, school attendance, academic performance and behavior on a student's personal and professional future.

Ryan received his Juris Doctor degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as president of the Student Health Law Association. He also earned an M.B.A. from Wake Forest University and received his Bachelor of Arts in Commerce degree from Washington and Lee University, where he served as captain of the varsity swim team, receiving first-team all-conference distinction his senior year.

  • Assisted a real estate investment conglomerate controlling more than $4 billion in real estate investment properties complete several corporate restructuring and buyouts.
