Before joining Williams Mullen, Wenhong served as general counsel for a health care venture capital fund with $100 million in assets under management. In that role, he provided legal counsel across multiple disciplines, including corporate, transactional and employment, and he helped negotiate joint venture agreements; navigated relationships between investors, venture capital firms and start-up accelerators; and helped ensure compliance with both domestic and international laws and regulations.

Wenhong has extensive experience working with start-up companies in both the United States and China, and he is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and the Shanghai Dialect, which allows him to effectively assist multi-national companies involved in deals in both the United States and Chinese markets.

A five-year veteran of the United States Navy, Wenhong served as deputy in-house counsel aboard an aircraft carrier; as an operations officer with a detainee task force in Afghanistan; and as a senior practice leader in Naval Legal Service Office Central’s Civil Law Department. He was awarded the Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps Civil Law Attorney of the Year in 2011.
