Mr. Goodpasture has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, and executive employment arrangements. He regularly works on trademark, copyright and related intellectual property matters and has assisted clients on matters related to charitable giving structures and related issues.

Mr. Goodpasture is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Richmond Bar Association and the Greater Richmond Intellectual Property Law Association.

Mr. Goodpasture is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. In addition he has been named to Virginia Business magazine’s list of “The Legal Elite.”  In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Goodpasture an AV attorney, its highest rating available.

Active in the community, Mr. Goodpasture is on the board of directors of The Virginia Foundation for Community College Education. He is on the finance committee of Richmond Hill and an advisory board member of The Institute for Actual Innocence at the University of Richmond School of Law. He is a 1994 graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond and a 1995 graduate of America’s Red Cross Leadership Development Council. He is a former board member of Planned Parenthood of Virginia, City Celebrations and Volunteer Emergency Families for Children.

Mr. Goodpasture earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics, with high distinction, from the University of Virginia in 1982 and his juris doctor degree, also from the University of Virginia, in 1985.
