Robert H. Burger
Robert Burger focuses his practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on banking, fiduciary, real estate and construction matters. Mr. Burger has experience litigating these types of cases in both federal and state courts. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Burger was a law clerk for the Honorable William T. Prince, U.S. Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Mr. Burger has experience litigating these types of cases in both federal and state courts. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Burger was a law clerk for the Honorable William T. Prince, U.S. Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Mr. Burger is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Federal Bar Association and the I’Anson-Hoffman American Inn of Court.
Mr. Burger is president of First Lutheran Church, and is a member of the First Lutheran Church council and executive committee. He serves as chairman of the Washington & Lee Alumni Admissions Committee. Additionally, Mr. Burger is also an active member of the Norfolk Republican Party Committee. He has been recognized by Virginia Business magazine as one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite.” He is also listed in Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars magazine for Business Litigation. Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Burger as an AV attorney, its highest rating available.
Mr. Burger received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1999. While in law school, he was selected a national member of the Order of Barristers and a member of the McNeill Law Honor Society. He also won the 1997 Barnett Moot Court Competition. Mr. Burger received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Washington and Lee University in 1993.
