Robert C. Miller
Bob Miller focuses his practice on estate planning and administration and taxation. He also advises corporate and private business owners in areas of succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and tax planning. Before joining the firm, he was a partner with Hofheimer Nusbaum, P.C., which merged with Williams Mullen in 2004.

Mr. Miller is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a member of the Virginia Bar Association, past chairman of the Trusts Estate Section of the Virginia State Bar and past chairman of the Young Lawyers Section of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association. Mr. Miller is listed in Best Lawyers in America and has been named a “Super Lawyer” for Estate Planning & Probate by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Miller an AV attorney, its highest rating available.
Mr. Miller has lectured at various continuing legal education courses for the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Law Foundation. He has also authored articles published in the Virginia State Bar Journal, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Journal and other publications to introduce means by which clients can accomplish their business and financial goals.
Long active in civic affairs, Mr. Miller has served on the board of directors of the Virginia Beach Forum and as board member and president of the Virginia Beach Rotary Club. He currently serves on the board of directors and as Vice President of the Harbor Club. As a founding and current member of the executive committee of the Virginia Beach Foundation, Mr. Miller has promoted the charitable causes of the area, serving as chairman of the foundation’s professional and advisory committee, investment committee and, most recently, its projects committee, which is focusing the resources of the foundation on assisting disadvantaged youth to become tomorrow’s productive citizens. Mr. Miller also volunteers his time and services to the Wills for Seniors Program.
Mr. Miller received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972. He earned his masters in law and taxation from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary in 1984 and his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Mississippi State University in 1969.
