Scott Street's practice concentrates in business and corporate litigation, including securities fraud, directors’ liability and derivative claims. Mr. Street’s litigation practice has included many complex cases. He has represented the defendant liability insurer in a class action brought by personal injury plaintiffs for claims relating to a pharmaceutical company’s bankruptcy. Ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court approved a settlement creating a mandatory nationwide class for compensatory damages and the preclusion of all claims for punitive damages.

Mr. Street’s litigation practice has included many complex cases. He has represented the defendant liability insurer in a class action brought by personal injury plaintiffs for claims relating to a pharmaceutical company’s bankruptcy. Ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court approved a settlement creating a mandatory nationwide class for compensatory damages and the preclusion of all claims for punitive damages.
Mr. Street also served as the primary debt restructure counsel for a major private university, initially securing an injunction that prohibited a foreclosure on the university’s campus. He ultimately handled the final restructuring and refinancing, which returned the university to financial stability.
Mr. Street served as president of the Virginia State Bar in 1999-2000. He has also served six years on the Bar’s Executive Committee and has been chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Committee on Legal Education. He has been a commissioner in chancery for the Circuit Court of Chesterfield County since 1971. Since 1973, Mr. Street has served as secretary-treasurer of the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners. He is a member of the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights, Richmond, Virginia and American bar associations, and he is a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation. Mr. Street is a past president of the Virginia Law Foundation. In addition, Martindale Hubbell has rated Mr. Street an AV attorney, its highest rating available.
He received his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1968 and was admitted to practice in Virginia that same year. He graduated in 1965 from Hampden-Sydney College, where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa.
