- Summer Associate 2007
What to Expect
Williams Mullen recruits both first and second year law students to participate in our summer associate program. Our summer program offers students the opportunity to experience life as a first year associate. Williams Mullen facilitates this experience by having each summer associate rotate through several practice areas of their choice throughout the summer. During each rotation, summer associates are assigned to a supervising attorney in the practice area of their preference, who coordinates work assignments. This rotation system allows both summer associates and attorneys a chance to get to know and evaluate one other.
In addition to undertaking research projects on a variety of practice areas, summer associates are given the opportunity to participate in real-life experiences ranging from departmental meetings, client meetings, hearings, depositions and closings. Williams Mullen summer associates also participate in community pro-bono events and weekly practice briefing seminars, which are intended to supplement the summer associates’ work experience and provide a broader exposure to the firm’s various practice areas.
Socially, the summer associates are able to get to know attorneys through planned events such as Friday Partner Lunches, cocktail receptions, dinner parties, happy hours, cooking classes and other exciting events.
