Theron "Tad" M. vanDusen
Tad vanDusen represents businesses in connection with their corporate, tax and transactional needs. He regularly advises clients about choice of entity and formation issues, capitalization and finance, corporate governance, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, tax-driven transactions, other tax issues, securities, venture capital, technology transfer, executive compensation, software and Internet agreements, and business contracts. Mr. vanDusen also represents tax-exempt organizations in connection with formation, applying for recognition of tax-exempt status and ongoing compliance with the rules and regulations governing tax-exempt entities.

He has lectured on various legal topics including technology licensing, limited liability companies, stock-based incentive compensation and legal issues facing start-up companies.
Mr. vanDusen is admitted to practice in North Carolina. He is a member of the Business and Tax Law sections of both the North Carolina and American bar associations. Mr. vanDusen is active in the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, where he was formerly a board member, the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA), the Entrepreneurs Organization (formerly YEO) and the Licensing Executives Society. In addition, Mr. vanDusen serves on the board of directors of Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers.
A University of Pennsylvania graduate, Mr. vanDusen received his bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude. He received his juris doctor degree, with honors, from Duke University.
