Paul Saunders serves as Williams Mullen’s Ethics Counsel and also offers ethics advice and counsel to clients outside of the law firm. Over the years, he has made numerous presentations on a wide variety of legal ethics issues. Paul focuses his practice on a range of corporate matters, including secondary mortgage market purchase and sale and securitization transactions, trust preferred securities transactions, project finance transactions.
Ed White represents clients in brand management and intellectual property counseling, prosecution and litigation. He counsels clients on trademark, trade dress, copyright, and technology litigation and dispute resolution, and during intellectual property audits and policies. Ed also frequently represents clients in the domestic and international clearance, registration and management of their intellectual property assets and helps them prepare and negotiate intellectual property and technology licenses, agreements and acquisitions.
Janet Cho focuses her practice on intellectual property counseling, prosecution and litigation. She represents clients in trademark, trade dress, advertising, domain name, and copyright matters. She advises both individuals and businesses with the registration and management of intellectual property assets, as well as licensing such assets.
Mark Zaruba focuses his practice on representing clients with respect to securities, corporate governance and merger and acquisition matters. Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Mark worked on the staff at the SEC in the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Division of Investment Management, where he developed substantial experience with SEC regulatory and compliance matters arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
John Mercer serves as the chair of the firm’s Financial Services & Real Estate Section. John has assisted regional and national landlords and tenants with the negotiation and preparation of complex office, retail and industrial leases on a regular basis. He has extensive experience with the acquisition, financing, leasing and development of commercial real estate.
Elizabeth Hodge Carr focuses her practice on commercial real estate, including acquisition, development, financing and leasing. She has experience representing clients in all types of real estate transactions, from contract drafting and negotiation to due diligence and closing.

Kevin Pomfret serves as co-chair of Williams Mullen's Data Protection & Cybersecurity teams. He has advised businesses on privacy and data protection laws, including data breaches, and he has helped to establish corporate data security plans. As a former satellite imagery analyst, Kevin is also a thought leader in geospatial technology with almost 30 years of experience in the geospatial community.
