Rob Van Arnam and Kevin Pomfret, co-chairs of the firm’s Data Protection & Cybersecurity practice, presented a one-hour program that covered the latest legal aspects of data protection, privacy and cybersecurity as well as an update on data breaches, including determining privilege. Rob and Kevin also provided an overview of the new Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act as well as updates on The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the newer, California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including how they affect companies located outside of the state. They closed out with an update on general data protection regulations such as new standard contractual clauses (SCCs) and Schrems II.
