Brydon DeWitt and Nona Massengill Speak at Richmond Compensation Association (RCA) Meeting

Tax reform legislation signed into law at the end of 2017 impacts executive compensation and more broad-based benefits on several fronts.  Department of Labor regulations on disability claims procedures will also affect plan administrators, beginning this year. Brydon DeWitt and Nona Massengill will walk you through new developments in the following areas:  (i) compensation deduction limits for publicly-traded companies; (ii) private company stock option and RSU plans; (iii) new excise taxes on tax-exempt employers, relating to severance and other pay arrangements; (iv) elimination of the Affordable Care Act individual mandate; and (v) how and when to implement new disability claims procedures.

  • Brydon's practice focuses on all areas of employee benefits law, including Affordable Care Act compliance, HIPAA health information privacy and security, other welfare plan matters, tax-qualified pension plans, and benefits issues in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Nona's practice focuses on tax and design aspects of executive compensation, including IRC section 409A compliance, equity plans and awards, and incentive compensation.
