A recent Government Accountability Office decision reinforces the need for contractors to ensure that their employees properly handle source selection sensitive and proprietary information, even information that is inadvertently received. As demonstrated by the decision, contractors must institute adequate training and compliance procedures regarding competitor information or face severe consequences, including suspension and debarment.
