11.17.2009 Former Virginia Attorney General and Williams Mullen Partner Jerry W. Kilgore Appointed Co-Chair of Governor-Elect McDonnell’s Inaugural Celebration RICHMOND, Va. – Williams Mullen announces that Hon. Jerry W. Kilgore, chair of the firm’s Government Relations team and its Multistate Corporate Compliance & Public Policy group, has been named a co-chair of Governor-Elect Bob McDonnell’s upcoming inauguration celebrations. The inaugural co-chairs will serve as ambassadors for the Inaugural Celebration.
“I am honored to be selected and I look forward to working with the Governor-Elect on the inaugural preparations,” said Mr. Kilgore.
Mr. Kilgore will be joined by five other co-chairs which include Richard Gilliam, president of Cumberland Resources Corporation, Sheila Johnson, CEO of Salamander Hospitality, Fred Malek, founder and chairman of Thayer Capital Partners and Thayer Lodging Group, Susan Allen, former First Lady of Virginia from 1994-1998, and Ed Gillespie, former chairman of the Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Virginia.
The inauguration will take place on Jan. 16, 2009 in Richmond, Va. at the Capitol. This is the first inauguration at the Capitol since 2002 due to renovations. Governor-Elect McDonnell will be the 71st Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
