08.01.2007 James M. Burns Appointed Vice-Chair of the ABA Antitrust Section’s Financial Services Committee WASHINGTON, DC – Williams Mullen announces that James M. Burns has been appointed Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section’s Financial Services Committee. Mr. Burns serves as chair of the antitrust practice group at Williams Mullen. He has practiced antitrust law for over 20 years and has litigated antitrust and related claims in federal and state trial and appellate courts all across the country.
The Financial Services Committee discusses competition issues that affect financial markets and institutions. The committee acts as a resource for business people involved in a broad array of financial services, including the securities and commodities markets, banking, payment systems and a broad array of other financial services. Mr. Burns previously served as the Chair of the ABA Antitrust Section Insurance Industry Committee.
