07.27.2009 Julian L. Shepard Receives Minority Media and Telecommunications Council’s Extraordinary Service Award Washington, D.C. – Williams Mullen announces that Julian L. Shepard, chair of the firm’s communications practice group, received the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council’s Extraordinary Service Award at its Annual Access to Capital and Policy Conference on July 21, 2009. The award recognized Julian for his service to the MMTC 307(b) Task Force which drafted a proposal to the Federal Communications Commission which would facilitate minority broadcaster’s access to new opportunities.

Last year, Mr. Shepard received MMTC’s Extraordinary Service Award for “dedicated and brilliant service as a member of the MMTC Equity-Plus-Debt Task Force, whose efforts resulted in new FCC Rules that will profoundly facilitate Minority Broadcasters’ access to capital.”
