09.03.2010 Julious P. Smith, Jr. Named to the 2010 "Leaders in the Law" Class Williams Mullen announces that firm chairman and former CEO, Joey Smith, was named to the 2010 class of honorees in Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s “Leaders in the Law” program. Mr. Smith will be recognized for his accomplishments at a reception on Oct. 21, 2010 in Richmond.

Joey Smith is chairman of Williams Mullen. Under his leadership, Williams Mullen, with offices in North Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and London, has become one of the largest law firms in the Southeast. His practice includes representing and advising business clients in corporate and business matters, including succession planning and mergers and acquisitions. He also consults with law firms on business issues.

A committed community leader, Mr. Smith is a member of the board of trustees of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges and the board of directors of the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame. A long-time coach of youth sports, Mr. Smith now serves on the board of directors of the State Council of Higher Education and the Virginia Athletics Foundation Board of Trustees. Mr. Smith also is a former chair of the Virginia Chapter of the Society of International Business Fellows.
