01.03.2011 In Memoriam - Thomas W. H. Alexander It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our partner, colleague and friend Thomas W. H. Alexander, who died peacefully Friday, Dec. 31, at home, following a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease. Mr. Alexander’s legal career spanned more than 40 years of dedicated service to clients, as well as, numerous community, professional and civic organizations.

He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 1962, and received a juris doctor degree from Wake Forest Law School in 1968. Mr. Alexander then served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1961-1968. From 1968 to 1969, he was a clerk for Chief Justice R. Hunt Parker of the North Carolina Supreme Court and from 1969 to 1971 served as an assistant district attorney for Wake County. He spent the next 32 years as a defense litigator for the Raleigh law firm of Maupin Taylor, which merged with Williams Mullen in 2007.

Mr. Alexander was a cherished member of the Williams Mullen family who will be greatly missed.
