03.17.2011 Stephen A. Brown Joins Williams Mullen’s Tax Section

Williams Mullen announces that Stephen A. Brown has joined the firm’s tax section as an associate attorney. Mr. Brown’s practice focuses on estate planning and trust administration, fiduciary litigation and corporate tax planning.

Mr. Brown advises clients on corporate tax considerations regarding entity formation, buy-sell agreements, employment agreements, shareholder agreements, asset purchase agreements, as well as payroll and state sales tax compliance. He is also skilled at assisting clients on the formation of non-profit corporations.

Mr. Brown is admitted to practice in North Carolina and is a member of both the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Brown received his juris doctor degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law at Chapel Hill, where he was a recipient of the J. Nelson Young Tax Scholarship for merit in the study of taxation and desire to practice tax law. While in law school, he served as a staff member for the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. He received both a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a bachelor of music in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro
