03.15.2013 Virginia Legislative Report at the Conclusion of the 2013 Session

Many significant changes to existing law and policies related to health care were discussed and approved by Virginia’s legislature during the recently adjourned 2013 session. The debate over whether or not Virginia would accept federal funding and expand its Medicaid program as well as how the Commonwealth would implement provisions of the federal health reform law remained contentious until the final day of the legislative session when an agreement was finally reached.
The following Alert summarizes the laws that were created and amended that could have an impact on the delivery of health care in Virginia.
