Richmond, Va. (June 29, 2011) — Evelyn M. Suarez has been elected to Williams Mullen’s Board of Directors. Suarez, a partner in the law firm’s Washington D.C. office, is a well-known international trade attorney with focus on import and export compliance, regulation and investigations, particularly customs, export controls, economic sanctions, anti-corruption, trade remedies, trade policy and related legislation. She is the third woman to serve on the law firm’s Board.

Suarez has practiced law for more than 30 years, the last eight with Williams Mullen. Her practice includes administrative, regulatory, legislative and litigation matters for global companies involved in importing, exporting, transportation, logistics and customs brokerage. She serves as an advisor to the U.S. Government for customs and trade facilitation matters.
She is a founder and board member of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade and is active in the organization’s Washington, D.C. chapter. In addition, Suarez serves as an officer to the National Waterways Conference, a non-profit organization concerned with water resources.
Suarez is a graduate of Rutgers University and Georgetown University Law Center. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for International Trade and Finance Law.
