Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that attorneys Robert K. Cox, Brian Cashmere and Arnie B. Mason have joined the law firm as partners in our Construction and Government Contracts practices. The three prominent construction lawyers were previously with Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald and will be based in Williams Mullen's Tysons Corner office. The group’s clients include business owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and sureties.
The team practices regionally, nationally and internationally and will continue to be construction-focused and resolution-oriented, involved with the full spectrum of issues commonly confronted on construction projects from bid to closeout, including contract negotiations, claims and counseling, change orders and claims preparation, evaluation and review. They will also continue their Government Contracts practice, to include government procurement/bid protests, terminations, OSHA compliance, small business contracting opportunities, and False Claims Act defense and counseling. Mr. Cox, Mr. Cashmere and Mr. Mason also bring a collective 60 years of dispute resolution experience in trials, litigation, and various forms of ADR, including DRBs, mediation, and arbitration, both nationally and internationally.
With more than 35 years of experience focusing on public and private construction and surety law issues, Bob Cox will chair the Construction Practice Group at Williams Mullen. He prepares and negotiates construction contracts, evaluates construction claims and works to resolve matters through mediation, arbitration and in court. Mr. Cox earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree from Cornell University.
Brian Cashmere represents contractors, subcontractors and sureties with issues related to Construction and Government Contracting. He prepares and negotiates various forms of contractual arrangements, including construction contracts, joint venture agreements, teaming agreements and mentor-protégé agreements. Mr. Mason also advises clients on federal government construction contracts, state and private projects. He earned his J.D. from the College of William & Mary and his B.A. from the University of Virginia.
