06.16.2008 Williams Mullen Jumps 21 Spots in the AmLaw 200 RICHMOND, VA – Williams Mullen has been listed in American Lawyer’s AmLaw 200, an annual ranking of the top-grossing and most profitable corporate firms in the U.S., since 2005. In 2007, Williams Mullen ranked 185 out of 200 nationwide law firms. This year, Williams Mullen moved up 21 positions, placing 164th in the ranking.

Organic expansion and the March 2007 merger of Williams Mullen with Raleigh, N.C.-based Maupin Taylor, P.A. both played a part in Williams Mullens’ growth. Compared to 2006, gross revenue for the firm increased by 27.7 percent and the number of attorneys increased by 28.7 percent.

“Williams Mullen’s strategic plan for increasing our number of attorneys and expanding our practice areas has been fueled by the demands of our clients. Incorporating additional specializations and supporting attorney groups and staff have allowed us to maintain our spot as one of the largest law firms in the Southeast,” said Williams Mullen president and CEO, Julious P. Smith, Jr.
