03.17.2016 Williams Mullen Welcomes Trusts & Estates Attorney Shelly Harris

Williams Mullen is pleased to welcome Michelle “Shelly” Harris as an Associate in the firm’s Estate Planning – Private Client & Fiduciary Services Practice in the Norfolk office. Ms. Harris will focus primarily on estate tax planning, estate and trust taxation and estate administration. She began her career as an Associate at an Atlanta-based law firm, where she designed and implemented wealth transfer planning strategies for high net worth individuals and assisted clients with all facets of the estate administration and probate process.

“We are very excited to add Shelly to our trusts & estates team,” said Christine Piersall, Chair of Williams Mullen’s Estate Planning – Private Client & Fiduciary Services Practice. “She will add immediate depth to our busy team and will help us provide even more value to our clients.”

Ms. Harris also has experience in business succession planning strategies for owners of closely held businesses, including the drafting of documents pertaining to transition of ownership in limited liability companies, limited partnerships and corporations.

She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review. She also double majored in History and French Language and Literature at UVA.  Shelly is licensed to practice law in Georgia, but not in Virginia. She has applied for admission to the Virginia State Bar.
