Chip Hancock represents a wide range of health care provider clients, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, sleep labs, physician group practices and retail clinics.  Chip is certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)® by the Health Care Compliance Association’s Compliance Certification Board and regularly counsels clients on the constantly changing laws and regulations governing payment from Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE and commercial payers.

Chip also leverages his background in health care compliance to help clients negotiate and structure health care transactions. His projects often involve providing advice in the following areas: entity formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and licensure.

Before entering private practice, Chip was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. While on active duty, he deployed to Ramadi, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he earned a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat “V”.

He later deployed to Fallujah, Iraq, also in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from his second deployment, Chip was selected to join Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Chip graduated from the first class of the Marine Special Operations Forces Individual Training Course in 2009 and later served as a Marine Special Operations Team Leader.

Chip earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and business from Virginia Military Institute.
