Patrick Cushing is an attorney and lobbyist with over 17 years of experience crafting policy in both the public and private sectors. Patrick represents a wide variety of clients and assists with developing broad-based advocacy strategies, drafting legislation, testifying in committee and navigating state government.
Prior to joining Williams Mullen in 2011, Patrick served as a nonpartisan staff attorney within the General Assembly where he staffed two committees and performed bill drafting and policy research for all 140 members of the Virginia General Assembly. Over the course of his career, Patrick has worked extensively with clients in the fields of energy, alcohol beverage control, information technology, economic development, education, transportation and insurance. Patrick has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine (2013-2020). He also served on Governor-elect Ralph Northam's Policy Council on Transportation.
He earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University with double majors in Integrated Science and Technology and Political Science and his Juris Doctor degree from Roger Williams University School of Law.
